I came in this life for adventure, it’s just another day in Paradise.

2024 has been a big year of lessons and clarity for me. I’ve been working hard to increase my productivity and the newest lesson I learned was about the Pareto Principle.

If you don’t know what it is, a simpler term for it is The 80/20 Rule.

The Pareto Principle is as simple as this: 80% of your results come from 20% of your efforts. Just a small fraction of what you do has the biggest impact on your success.

We all know the phrase “work smarter, NOT harder.” This complements the Pareto Principle perfectly.

So how do you apply the Pareto Principle? First you need to identify the critical actions that will generate the most ROI and focus on them to drive your business, brand, and dream forward instead of getting lost in all the work that makes you feel like you aren’t really progressing.

Productive work over Busy work. Productive work is working smarter, Busy work is working harder.

Currently I’m still in the stage of identifying my 20% tasks, and marketing is a big one on my list. In order to increase the visibility of ELM CITY STUDIOS we’ve started using Twitch to stream the product photography we do in-studio. During the hour-or-so that we’re live, viewers not only get to join in on the production but also receive creative entrepreneurial gems.

Sometimes it takes a while to edit the ELM CITY STUDIOS content, especially when it’s run-and-gun footage. Streaming on Twitch allows us to create quick edits to small segments of production thanks to Twitch allowing us to download the stream. We can focus on providing the most value in our business advertisements while taking the time necessary to meticulously craft the content showcasing the soul of the ELM CITY STUDIOS brand.

In the last stream we shot four different skincare products and discussed social media content strategy. Viewers got a taste of the services we offer, and when we finish editing clips from the stream to create short-form videos for our company we’ll have a bundle of advertisements to post on all of our channels. These ads will give free game to social media users who want to increase their visibility and stop being a ghost, which is the title of an E-Book we’re putting together for free download.
